What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW)

After a busy two weeks pre, during and post cyclone I'm able to join in with WOYWW this week. WOYWW is What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday and its simply a group of creators and artists from all over the World, whom post pictures of what is on their work desks each Wednesday. The ring leader(founder) and where you put the link to your post is on Julia's blog  HERE. So this week I'm sharing just my paper arts desk as the mozzies have been insanely ferocious when I have been out trying to work at my metal working desk in the garage.

Here is my paper arts desk. I've been making mixed media backgrounds (at left) to make a card for a friend. At the right I am adding  some more small watch parts to a steampunk puffy heart necklace I made using Ice Resin.

This is the card I made closer. Its for a lovely lovely kind artistic friend Evvie, whom had been unwell for awhile. I hope she likes it and doesn't see it in here before she gets it in the post! :o)

My intro to drawing and painting class has finished but I hope to join a drop in session each week to continue with trying to learn to paint as its been a life long thing I have always wanted to learn. I'm still utterly surprised at how well my first painting went...not that any others will turn out well but I want to keep learning and trying! If you would like to see my first ever landscape painting its here. Now I am off to look at others desks...

  5. What a lovely card Annette..I am sure Evvie will love it. You are obviously in the same 'area' as me as we had the cyclone dramas too. I am in Townsville so you must be somewhere between Cooktown & Mackay.
Hope everything went well for you through it. Vikki #22

  6. Hi Annette,

Glad you faired the cyclone and have settled in. Look at that amazing card and I can see the shimmer on it. It reminds me of the time you were here and played with the shimmerz splats, gosh that was awhile ago now. Your friend is going to love that card it really is beautiful like all of your work.

  11. Firstly, I'm really glad that you escaped relatively unscathed through the cyclone...and that the tree that fell on your roof didn't do too much damage.
Love the colours in that card and also the black swirls. I don't see why get well cards should be pale and pastelly, I'd much rather have one of your's to cheer me up!

  14. Annette, what a lovely workspace. I fear I'd be dazing out the window most of the day. What an inspiration it must be. Your card is gorgeous! I'm sure Ewie will love her card and I hope she doesn't see it before she "sees" it! That's always a fear I have. I'm going to browse through some of your blog posts I've missed. See you again soon!

  22. So glad to read that you are unscathed from the cyclone that hit your area. Totally impressed that no one was killed. "Stuff" can be replaced, trees can be grown anew, but lives can't be replaced.

Your friend will surely be pleased with the beauty you have made for her. The colors are stunning.

Thanks for visiting me earlier in the week. WOYWW wishes from # 9.

  24. Rosie will love that card it is rather special looking. Sorry to hear about the mossies and the cyclone. Hope neither of the were too bad and the latter did not cause too much destruction (and certainly no injury).
Nice to see you papercrafting and hope you continue to enjoy your painting.

  25. I love how you have blended the photo with the beautiful background. I haven't heard much news lately so I knew nothing about a cyclone. Hope all is well with you and everyone in your area. Thank you for your visit this week. I did feel I had achieved something major by getting out and about with the caravan, and the sketching etc was very relaxing. I want to do a lot more, so I may go out and about with my book and pencil and camera, just to get more practice. Have a good week. xx Maggie #10

  26. Hi Annette, that's a lovely card you've made for your friend - I'm sure she is going to love it. The background you've created is fabulous - love the colours. We get nasty storms here, and gales that set your teeth on edge, but never cyclones - much more terrifying I'm sure. I can't paint for toffee ... I'm sure your much too modest ... I've seen your painting and it is fantastic :) Thanks for popping in earlier and leaving a comment - it's much appreciated. Have a great week. Elizabeth xx

  27. Annette, Thanks for your visit and I have to confess here. That lovely flower image is part of a kit and it was grabbed at the last minute to cover up the ATC's so that they would be completely exposed too soon. I think it is froma DAwn Bibby kit, but I have had it for a long time.
That card for your friend is so unusual, I'm sure she will love it. Lovely colours and gems on it.

Thanks for visiting already - and, yes - I'm doing my utmost to look after myself too - lots of watching of DVDs, Judge john Deed - brilliant fun. Not sure they are supposed to be comedy - but I do find a fun side in them!!

  34. What a beautiful card, Annette. I am working on a mini-album at the moment and am hoping to do something like this around the photographs - I wasn't sure how to do it but this has given me some inspiration! Great timing - thanks. Your desk looks very interesting and intriguing.

Thanks for your nice comment - one day soon, I hope, I shall get my new sewing machine up and running. I am very busy at the moment with a bit of a deadline to work to, and I'm longing to get back to my teabags!
