Woven Heart

Well I did sit here all day and make that woven heart from the post below. It has Fantasy Film and Angelina Film woven in several layers to make the heart and background plus Opals. Also there is Angelina hot fix fibres under the house and around the heart,a faux lead light window at front of the house, hand sewn on beads, and words at edges imprinted using metal stamps and a hammer. It's amazingly shimmery and glistens in the light.I was aiming for a woven heart to represent the interwoven united hearts of all Australians who have reached out from all the corners of our country to those devastated and those souls lost by the Feb 7 bush fires in Victorian. They call that day Black Saturday now.

Here is the faux glass window/door closed and a closer image of some of the detail on the front window

The Wisdom Of A By-gone Flower OR Heck That Is Pink

Well I know I like colour but I don't think I have ever created a piece with mainly pink as its colour LOL.The words have a pearl blue and pearl pink wash on them and so are hard to read in the photo but it says "Being a Woman is a terribly difficult task, since it consists principally in dealing with men".I'm experimenting some more with my Opals paper and this time instead of just ironing in bits of Fantasy Film into the Opals on the Vilene I used two 13cm lengths of the Fantasy Film and ironed them and Franklin Opals together to make a sheet of shimmery Fantasy Film Opals paper.I ran it thru the Cuttlebug in different directions and changed the embossing folder each time...the result was a gorgeous shimmery textured base that the camera does not catch.

The Vintage image was done using Lazertran water slide decal paper for Inkjet printers. It adhers wonderfully to the Opals paper.I used an Angelina fibre piece at the bottom that had been ironed while the fibres were sitting on an After midnight art stamp floral boarder stamp as it ties in with the shimmery background. To make this you lay Angelina fibres across a stamp sitting image side up on some baking parchment.Place more baking parchment on top and iron over the top with iron set on a hot dry setting. The Angelina fibres melt and press into the stamp. When cool peel the fibres up and the image of the stamp will be on the Angelina fibres.Lastly I added some fluffy and beaded ribbon trim, hand sewed on some beads to the trim all the way round and added "Le Fleur" page pebble. Here is the view from the top side

and from the bottom up

I only had today off so on my next day off on Tuesday I am going to play with the brand new Opals embossing enamel colour that came in the mail for me yesterday. It is called Abalone and it has a beeswax look but has irridscent effects(so it has blues, greens, reds andviolets in it), it is transparent and silky smooth according toNiamh and Sue.Think weddings,Christenings,Christmas and vinatge works

Opals Encrusted Jewellery stand

"Opals embossing enamels how I love thee let me count the ways" LOL.I made a large jewellery stand using Opals embossing enamels,Fantasy Film,Aftermidnight Art Glass and stamps,Krafty Lady moulds and so on and so on.It started as plain chipboard frame that was around the length of a ruler so quite large.I made one side bluish brown and the other whitish blue. This side below has central torso made using Opals,Fantasy Film, more Opals and then stamping with a large floral Aftermidnight art stamp.Aftermidnight art glass used for the three "buttons" covered in Opals and Fantasy Film and then stamped on.Krafty Lady small face mould caste with Sculpey and then painted with Pental Metallic brush pens.Torso face is a large plastic face mould I found at Spotlight caste with Sculpey and painted with Pental metallic brush markers.Mask is an Aftermidnight Art stamp stamped on fun foam and then painted.Beads hand sewn on.Hair was made by dribbling molten Opals around the made face which was placed face down in a tray of iced water.Arms where made with some ???shower clips I found in Bunnings.I placed images in the circles and then added keys made from Krafty Lady key mould caste with Sculpey attached with jump rings.Bottom of the stand is Opals built up with three layers and then stamped into with an Aftermidnight art stamps butterflies stamp.

On the reverse is the whitish side.Made in a similar way with different colours of Opals embossing enamels,Fantasy Film,Pental paints and Krafty Lady art moulds

Closer look at the whitish blue side

and the brownish blue side
