"Raisin and Eggplant" Cards...the last two yeha

AAhhh at last I had time to finish the last two raisin and eggplant coloured cards.Here is the first one.Like the others there is stained papers machine sewn onto Vilene and over stamped with white gesso to make the bg.The laser printed vintage image transfer was done using Translucent liquid Sculpey.The image was transferred onto organza.The "memories "word at top was a metal stained with Alcohol inks

this is closer to the vintage dragonfly brooch...it was under the top part that I used in the Opals book tin I made earlier this month

and the scroll and bling at the bottom

This is the last one.It has some stained lace at the left,Prima flower,metal "spirit" charm and lots of those purple Kaiser bling thingos

Tomorrow I want to make some iridescent film silver necklaces and maybe do a REALLY bright card to get me away from raisin and eggplant colour LOL

Raisin and Eggplant

Well after I uploaded the backgrounds I made from the previous post I had hoped to do some daily posts of the cards I was making in progress...life sent me another curve ball and you know those hands of mine that I showed you still stained with Polished Pigments after I had washed them four times???...well as I drove to work that day I inadvertently rubbed my right eye...this caused instant pain,redness and swelling...the swelling stayed there for several days and then I caught the flu ggggrrrr.Anywho I got to play at last yesterday and today with the raisin and eggplant looking sprayed papers I had made.
Firstly I tore and layered them onto Vilene using gel medium to glue them in place.These are inspired by the card Deb Baker sent me that is here

Next I stamped on them with white gesso to tie them all in and make them less quilt like

Then I added a hand drawn image I did from over 20yrs ago,ran it thru my sewing machine using straight stitch and zigzag, added some metallic words that I applied raisin and eggplant alcohol inks too,sewed on some raisin and eggplant stained paper flowers and buttons and sewed on some of the lace I had sprayed in the post below

Inky Spray Play and Some More Mail Has Come

There I was tidying up my desk after completing my Paulette Insall class...I have two further drawn face images on canvas backgrounds ready to paint but have to put them aside to make a few birthday and Mothers Day cards..and I found some mail that came for me early in my class and had no time to photograph.I had sent the artistic Dutch stamper Hermine Kloster some of the gloss card that I use to do Inkjet Water Transfers as she had no luck in finding any that worked for her where she lived.In return Hermine sent me a wonderful package with German scrap( I LLLOOOVVVEE this stuff LOL),vintage images,collage papers,charms,old beads and bits and pieces plus this way beautiful bound book below.It has a lovely canvas feel and soft pastel tones.Isn't it gorgeous?.Hermine is one of the people I have stopped to make a card for as I had no time when I sent her the gloss card.

Onto card making.I have no idea where this will end up....I never do *grin*.So here is the start.I have used water colour paper that I have applied 4 coats of white gesso too.I then sprayed them with cranberry Luminarte Radiant Rain spray,blueberry shake Stewart Superior Memory Mist spray and then I used a fine sprayer and spritzed with water plus sprinkled on snapdragon Luminarte Polished Pigment powder.OH my these are so shimmery and pretty in real life.

I had the spray bug then so then I used the same colours on scrapbook papers and lace...in the corner I have a stamped image of two children and a Translucent Liquid Sculpey transfer onto chiffon....hhhmmm maybe I should do a video how too of that for folks as it is another EASY transfer method that is way versatile.

At the bottom of the image is my right hand after washing it four times and pre going to work....not sure how to explain that one to the director of nursing LOL.I think some gesso stamping and sewing ala Deb Baker is next :o).
