Lesson Seven-Mixed Media Collage Completed

Here you go...I have finished my first ever painting. It now has her eyes(closer to the nose)decreased in length, some of the bg images moved into the hair, some collage elements added and the words. They read "sometimes the truth speaks from a peaceful place".Its something I heard on the show Dexter and it struck a cord in me and I wrote it down for future use. When I look at this lady she seems to have an inner thought coming out thru her eyes.Like she wanted to tell me something and I imagined that was what she said

As someone who is VERY critical of my own work I am utterly surprised I can look at this and tell myself "you did a good job for your first ever attempt at painting".I'm amazed someone could teach ME to paint and I am utterly thankful to Paulette Insall for embowering me like she has. ...gobsmacked I am LOL

Annette,

Your painting is fantastic I really love it and congratulations on achieving what you thought was impossible. I cant wait to meet Pauline next year at the CSR2010 lucky you has a head start and wont need her classes.

Love the words that you have chosen too.

She sure looks good Annette. Well done. I think the only person who is surprised at your painting skills is you. But isn't that always the way. Hope you got into the classes you wanted for CSR

Annette, if I'd managed to paint a portrait this well I'd never have had the courage to add the collage elements to it. Brave Girl... and a great result!
I'm so happy that you're pleased with it too. Can't wait to see which direction you go next!

Never ever did I doubt you wouldn't be able to paint and this is your very first attempt. It just goes to show that your talents stretch further than you ever imagined. I am really so pleased to know that you are happy with your painting skills, looking forward to seeing more of it now. Take care,Louise

THANKS Everyone
I hurt my back at work and haven't been able to sit in a comfortable possie for the last week but can sit a bit longer toiday so I just wanted to say Thanks to you all:o)....by alot of the comments maybe I was the only one who thought I couldn't paint....truly I had no idea I would be OK at painting at all.The next one I want to do is a man I drew 20 years ago.....he has great defined features and is looking over his shoulder.I'm not sure if it too will turn out OK but I'll enjoy trying :o).That is when I can sit a bit longer to get started.
Doing stuff you never thought you could and achieving ANY result is very empowering indeed!
hugs
Annette
